The Made to Measure program is a collaboration between Designtex and Standard Issue Design to develop a collection of printed wallcoverings that can be customised. My role was to identify artists, illustrators and photographers with whom we could work; to select and recreate imagery suitable to the proprietary production process; developing all concepts to final product; and contributing to the development of the user interface and the manufacturing process. The design and development of the website coincided with the development of the products as well as a manufacturing process to enable on-demand production.
For NeoCon 2015—the annual contract furniture trade show in Chicago—Standard Issue Design conceived Light Frozen, an installation bringing together Designtex, artist Phillip Low, and iconic Danish furniture manufacturer Carl Hansen & Søn. Objects and patterns flowed across surfaces challenging boundaries between upholstery and wall covering, furniture and architecture.
Developed in collaboration with Standard Issue (Michael McGinn: creative direction; Aoife Ludlow: wallcovering & textile design and planning; David Ruperti: interior architecture and planning; Alex Herrmann: environmental typography and graphic design; )
